Life Compass Counseling is a nonprofit psychotherapy practice based in Davis, California, offering in-person therapy locally and telehealth services throughout the state.
Since 2009, we’ve been guided by a belief that hasn’t changed: good therapy should be both clinically serious and deeply human. Not one or the other.
We work with individuals, couples, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship strain, attachment wounds, life transitions, and emotional exhaustion. Our approach is relational and attachment-informed, drawing from contemporary psychodynamic and evidence-based traditions.
Who We Serve
We offer several levels of care within one integrated practice — senior clinicians for depth-oriented relational work, and associate therapists and supervised trainees for clients who benefit from reduced-fee options without sacrificing quality. Our nonprofit structure makes this possible in ways a traditional private practice simply can’t sustain.
Leadership
Carmen Isais, LMFT is the Owner and Clinical Director of Life Compass Counseling, guiding the overall direction, structure, and vision of the practice.
Lee Ockenden, LMFT serves as Clinical Director and Supervisor, providing clinical leadership and ongoing supervision to associate and trainee therapists.
Together they bring a shared commitment to relational depth, clinical rigor, and genuine investment in both client care and therapist development.
Our Commitment
We believe therapy works best when it’s clinically grounded and emotionally attuned — structured enough to be trustworthy, human enough to actually reach people. Whether you’re seeking couples therapy, support for anxiety or burnout, or help navigating a major life transition, we’re here to offer something that holds.
