I believe we all have the capacity to live rich and fulfilling lives. We are creative beings navigating our communities and constantly striving to understand how we can be happy and feel better. Something inside us wants to experience love, peace, and contentment. To quote Sting, “We are spirits in a material world.”
We know feelings of well-being are possible because we have felt them before, so we begin to feel ‘if only we could manage better’ and our thoughts and beliefs, in turn, frustrate us. For many people, rigid, unsupportive thoughts pile up in our heads and we don’t even see how we came to be unhappy, afraid, angry, lonely, and tired.
I would like to help you navigate through your barriers and move forward into a place of contentment, self-compassion, and hopefulness. I can hold ‘that thought’ for you so that you might gain a new perspective, one that is more supportive of your true voice. Together we can find your centered self, the person within you who knows the way. You can feel better, gain perspective, and gain agency to choose your path.
I am currently a trainee toward licensure as a marriage and family therapist, and as such work under the clinical supervision of Lee Ockenden, LMFT #38216.
